Even the most skilled writers and entrepreneurs have days when their creativity is waning. This is something that can prove to be a big hindrance in an industry where content is the key to unlocking your success.
It seems to happen more often when you are consistently churning out content for your blog, emails, social media and other elements like info products or lead magnets. And without consistency, you can’t be competitive.
Very few people have an endless well of ideas that are brimming with innovative slants or concepts to convey information to their target audience. Instead, they have to find ways to fire up their creative thinking.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is one tool you can use, and it’s much better than simply copying what the top competitors in your niche are doing. With AI by your side, you’ll never be lacking for creative content again.
Some worry that AI will replace the human ability to communicate with clever content slants. But the reality is that AI serves to enhance your own creativity. It doesn’t have to eliminate you from the equation.
Think of it like a catalyst that sparks your imagination and gives you fresh ideas to work with that you can tackle from your own unique perspective. If you need help getting past a bout of writer’s block or just need a day where you have an assistant helping you think of something because your attention is focused elsewhere, AI can be the tool that sets you on the right course.
While some worry about AI being a threat to their innovative thinking, nothing could be further from the truth. You need to start viewing it as a partner in your business. You can use it to come up with so many things.
For example, it has the ability to consider the needs and behaviors of your audience and help you devise a topic that’s in line with what they need. If there’s a trend happening, it can uncover an effective slant to touch upon it.
You can easily collaborate with it, steering it in the right direction until you get exactly what you need. It’s similar to a mind mapping tool where you can easily expand on ideas, readjust them, organize them and get everything ready for you to share with your readers.
It’s not too crazy to say that sometimes, we do need to lean on AI to give us a starting point. You might be tapped out for ideas completely and not be able to initiate an AI conversation with a starting point.
Don’t be afraid to ask AI for content ideas that it helps you devise from thin air. You still have the overall ability to mix and match topics, iterate it into something slightly different, and more.
You can also use a variety of AI tools to see what each one delivers. For example, if you prompted ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude all the same request to help with content, they would come up with things that are usually not identical.
Your prompt can even specify that you want something cutting edge, something that fills a content gap, or something trending upward in your niche. See what each tool delivers and you’ll have a good foundation to start a new piece of content.
Sometimes you need help either widening the approach of your content ideas or narrowing them so they fit a specific slant or demographic need. This is something AI can help tremendously with, opening the door for more unique topics.
For example, let’s say you were going to cover email marketing for niche entrepreneurs. That’s a very broad topic. You could prompt AI and say, “I want to cover email marketing for senior online entrepreneurs, addressing some of the concerns that are specific to that demographic. Give me a list of article titles that focus on their issues in particular.”
Gemini might give you the following: Tech-Savvy Seniors: Overcoming Email Marketing Hurdles. Claude would possibly have different titles like: Leveraging Life Experience: Using Your Expertise as a Senior in Email Campaigns.
That way, the topic has been creatively devised for a specific target audience. You can also use AI to expand basic information into more detailed, comprehensive content that you expand upon.
An example of this might if you start off with a piece about email marketing practices and you tell AI: “I’m writing an article about best email marketing practices. So far I have consistent communications, not spamming recipients and transparency. What else can I cover in this article?”
AI might tell you to cover personalization, email list segmenting, mobile-friendly emails, strategic CTAs (calls to action), split testing for conversions, timing your emails the right way and so on.
Not only can AI help with text-based creativity, but you can use the same process to get help with visual AI, like images and videos. You can ask for abstract ideas or concreate imagery that you may not have considered for your piece.
If you need help determining which format would work best for your audience and for a specific purpose, AI can help you come up with some creative ideas to test. It might include a blog post, quiz, survey or video.
You never have to worry that you’ll lack creativity and be uncompetitive in your niche. AI ensures that you’ll always have a well of ideas at your fingertips. Try using it as a catalyst for your own take on things, and then practice having it create the foundation for your own content for those times when you can’t muster up anything to share.
